We moved here in April 2012. I had nearly everything sorted, boxed and ready to roll. My friend showed up with his big giant truck, opened the doors and away we went.

We did it in one trip. My guy friends {and Melissa!} were the BEST during our move. I moved out a week before I 'had' to to allow my kiddos the freedom to choose to stay at the 'old place' for a few days to prepare with adjusting, or....bite the bullet and stay at our 'new place'. Things were put where I told the guys to put them. I was NOT ready to unpack. I had the kids rooms done and ready for them, the kitchen and bathroom were stocked and ready, but that was it. Nothing on the walls, no touches of mommyisms anywhere. I was not feeling the love of our new place. It was a shell of a home. The kitchen was completely backwards from our old place and I burned nearly ever dish I cooked for a month. If the kids left on visitation, I refused to eat at the house, hang out, decorate....I just could not stand being alone here. The new place has a ton of closet place and the old place did not. Most things were put in the closets to get them out of our way....
Fast forward to December.
The clutter got me. Everything was getting piled on top of everything and if I wanted something, I usually had to pull down ten things {three of which fell on my head} and honestly, it was frustrating. This is NOT me, how I want our home to be, or how I want my kids to keep house. So, I pulled everything down with the help of my ten year old and away we went! I did not purchase a single item for this redo. I used what I had, I just repurposed things.
It took a few hours, and really, my ADD kicked in and I was sidetracked with other things too, like ya know, three kids under the age of ten, school and work....but! I did it! and I like it and feels like us and so far, it works for us.

| Laundry supplies |
 |
| Lunch supplies are close enough for the girls to reach and help with their own lunch packing. |
 |
| I found this printable on Pinterest. Thought it was cute :) |
 |
| I printed labels on pretty paper, laminated them and tied them on to the baskets. |
 |
| I just taped labels onto the containers with packing tape. Cheap...but EFFECTIVE! |
Of course, I am now going through each closet and Christmas decor is in full swing here too. I'm not sure if every one else or any one else feels this way after a severed relationship, but I do. Some days are easier than others. I can honestly say it is starting to feel like home. The kids love it here and our neighborhood is very kid friendly. I'm thankful to be where God has led us. Hope you enjoyed your visit, and maybe I'll see you again soon! Thinking I might need to share some Christmas Cheer soon! ;)
