In Which I Attempt Blogging....again

For the first time in....errr....ever, I am living on my own. Well, three kids and me. It's been...interesting. I am adjusting, the kids are adjusting and we are getting there. When we moved out of our old home, I was told I could take what ever I wanted. But...to me...I didn't want to take it all because my kids still spend time there and I didn't want to have them be faced with a 'shell of a home'. {even more than what I am sure they already feel} We have been in our place for 7 months now. I collect furniture as I go. This dresser was given to me. The flowers are wallpaper scraps and they came off with water and a razorblade. I just washed it down, towel dried it and set it outside in my yard to sun dry as well.
Then, I just started spray painting it. I did not strip it. I did remove the moulding from the top drawer and I removed the handles and painted those too.

I decided to mod podge fabric to the drawer fronts. I kinda wrapped them like presents. Just put a layer of MP on the drawer, smoothed the fabric over, MP the the ends to the wood and the folds really well. Let it dry for a day, and.....
The fabric cost me about $6 and I think I used 4 cans of paint for about $12. So, really, about twenty bucks for a new-to-me-one-of-a-kind-dresser. And my girls love it.
